(ACL) is part of the Amana group, which pioneered Islamic
Financial Services in Sri Lanka over a decade ago. The company
is Licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of
Sri Lanka, and offers a range of services, all in compliance
with Islamic law. Its activities are monitored by a Shari'ah
Council headed by the globally renowned scholar Maulana Justice Taqi Usmani.

Recent
Milestone
-
In November 2006, ACL succeeded in securing Trading
Membership of the Colombo Stock Exchange, one of a select group
of 5 such companies amongst a plethora of applicants. Thus,
Amana Securities Ltd. was launched and commenced operations
in January 2007.

In March 2007, Amana Capital Ltd launched the DJIM Amana Sri
Lanka Index, in conjunction with Dow Jones Indexes, USA.

In December 2007, ACL launched NAMAL Amana Equity Fund, the
first Shari'ah compliant equity fund ever to be launched in
Sri Lanka, in collaboration with National Asset Management
Ltd. (NAMAL).
